A little piece of the story
I found this picture and kept it to use as a form study (the original is a full body picture), it wasn’t until I was looking at it more closely and playing around with the crop that I realised how sweet and gentle a moment it was.
The full picture was a bit underwhelming and messy but hidden in plain sight was a tender moment - so natural and every day that it felt ~ mundane.
It made me think of my own life and how many special mundane moments might pass me by without my knowing. I wanted to paint this to remind me to open my eyes and see all the wonderful things that are hidden in plain sight in my life too.
I hope whenever you look at it, it reminds you to do the same.
The Print
A Brother’s Love is reproduced from my original oil painting as an open edition fine art print.
Each print is professionally printed to order in Australia on ILFORD GALERIE Prestige Smooth Pearl 310gsm paper.
The heavyweight paper has a beautiful subtle pearl finish that brings out the rich colour, deep blacks and detail of the original painting without a high-gloss finish.
Each print is produced with a clean white border, as pictured, with no trim lines.
A note for collectors of the original Limited Edition
A Brother's Love was previously released as part of my first Limited Edition print collection. That edition remains exactly that - limited.
This Open Edition is a new and separate release, produced on different paper and in different sizes. Unlike the original Limited Edition prints, these prints are not hand-signed and do not include a Certificate of Authenticity.
The original Limited Edition will never be reprinted in its original format.
This new Open Edition allows me to keep some of my most loved artworks permanently available, while keeping my Limited Edition releases genuinely special for the collectors who purchased them.

All dimensions refer to the overall paper size. Artwork is printed with a white border. Frame not included.

Unlike my limited edition releases, there is no set number of these prints available and no closing date.
