The Project

After reaching out to every email I could find for the Melbourne Zoos marketing team and hearing nothing back, I decided to just go ahead and launch this project anyway.

I'm painting this gorgeous photo of Indrah swimming - taken by David Whelan.
I'll be running limited edition prints for a short period of time, from small paper prints to original size canvas prints and donating 50% of the profit directly to the Melbourne Zoo to support Indrah & Hutan

The Goal is $5k

After speaking with the philanthropy team at the Melbourne Zoo (they did eventually email me back), I've been informed that any donation under $5k goes into general Zoo funding. BUT if we reach $5k or above, I will become a conservation partner and have a say where the donation is allocated - so long as it has been pre approved and budgeted for within the 5 year budget plan.

My goal is for this donation to go directly to Indrah & Hutan. They're nearing the end of their lives, and there are no further plans for a tiger breeding program at the Melbourne Zoo for the near future.

So once Indrah and Hutan leave us, that's it..

I don't want their last years to be void of funding due to the cancellation of tigers in the strategic plan for Zoos Victoria. They deserve as much enrichment and joy in their last years as possible. It's been such a joy throughout my life going to visit them, speaking to the keeper's who love them so dearly, learning about them. My heart hurts for the day the tiger habitat is empty.

I want to give back to them.
